Fort Worth In-Home Newborn Photography

The best place to remember this season may be your own home.

Those first days at home with a new baby can be sweet and exhausting at the same time. An in-home session means nobody has to pack the baby up, get to a studio on time or hope they sleep through a pose. We can stay where your family is already most comfortable.

I know inviting someone into your home after having a baby can feel like a lot. Before the session, we will talk about which rooms you may want to use and anything you would rather keep private. You can ask for a pause or change your mind about a photo at any point.

What it feels like when I arrive

You do not need to have the baby dressed and waiting for me at the door. A lot of the time, parents are still deciding between two onesies or finishing a feeding when I arrive. That is normal.

I will come in, say hello and let you point me toward the nursery. Once I find a place for my camera bag, I may start with the little details in the room while you tend to the baby. If the baby is resting safely in the crib, I may take a few photos there too.

As we move through the session, I will look for the rooms with the best light. If a small table, lamp or distracting item needs to move, I can help move it and put it back. We are not going to turn your house upside down.

If you know me from an outdoor family session, you will see a quieter side of me here. I still give direction and keep things moving, but newborn sessions are slower because I do not want anybody to feel stressed in their own home.

We will work around your baby

Your baby can cry. Your toddler can need a snack. You can stop to feed the baby, change a diaper or sit down for a while. None of that means the session is going badly.

I will give simple direction when it helps, but I am not going to force a pose or expect your baby to follow a strict plan. Taking care of the baby is part of the session, and sometimes those ordinary moments are worth photographing too.

Your comfort and privacy matter

I love photographing the way parents care for their baby together. That may be both of you handling a diaper change or one parent soothing the baby while the other stays close. I can photograph those moments from an angle that shows what is happening without showing anything private.

I also love photographing breastfeeding, but I will always ask first. It can be included without me being close to you or showing more than you are comfortable with. If you would rather feed privately, that is completely fine.

I do not post breastfeeding examples openly on the website because I want to protect my clients’ privacy. If seeing a few examples would help you decide whether you want it photographed, you can ask me to share them privately.

The little moments I am watching for

I am not working through a rigid checklist. I am watching for the way you hold your baby, how they settle against you and what happens when everyone curls up together. If there are siblings, I want to give them room to get to know the baby in their own way too.

I will also photograph the details that make this your home and your baby’s first space. That may be something in the nursery, an heirloom or the family pet wandering into the frame.

When should we schedule?

There is not one perfect day for newborn photos. Some families want them during the first couple of weeks. Others would rather wait until everybody has had more time to settle in. Because these are not built around a specific newborn pose, we have more flexibility.

If you book before the baby arrives, we can hold space around your due date and choose the actual session date after the birth. If your baby is already here, you have not missed your chance.

Your home does not need to be perfect

Please do not deep-clean the whole house for me. We can choose one or two rooms with comfortable light and move the few things that are distracting in the photos. I do not expect a home with a new baby in it to look untouched.

Wear something that feels comfortable. You do not need to match. If there is a blanket, heirloom or nursery detail that matters to you, set it aside and we can find a way to include it.

In-home newborn session details

In-home newborn sessions begin at $625 and include up to 90 minutes of photography.

Ninety minutes gives us time to move from room to room and stop if the baby needs to eat or have a diaper change. Those breaks are expected. We do not have to rush the baby to stay on schedule.

A few questions families often ask

Does the baby need to be dressed before you arrive?

No. It is very common for the baby to still be in a diaper, pajamas or in the middle of a feeding when I arrive. You can finish getting ready while I start with the nursery details, and I am happy to help if you are stuck between two outfits.

What if my home is dark or small?

Most homes have at least one area with light we can use. I will look for it and choose angles that keep the attention on your family. If I think we may need a little extra light, we can talk about that before the session.

What if the baby cries?

That is normal. Crying does not mean the session is going badly, and you do not need to apologize. We can give the baby time and pick back up when they are ready.

Can breastfeeding be photographed privately?

Yes. I will ask before photographing a feeding and use angles that protect your privacy. You can also change your mind at any time. If you want to see what those photos can look like, ask me and I can share a few examples privately.

Ready to plan your newborn session at home?

Tell me your due date or the baby’s birth date, where you live and who you would like included. You do not have to know every detail yet. I can help you figure out the timing and what will work best for your family.
